Surbiton Join Hampstead In Euro Hockey League KO8

Surbiton Men beat hosts Real Club De Polo 5-2 to join Hampstead & Westminster in the EHL KO8 in Barcelona on Friday.
Hampstead beat HGC 2-1 in the second game of the day on a historic day for English clubs in the Euro Hockey League.
Alan Forsyth put Surbiton ahead from a sixth minute penalty corner but Polo Club equalised a minute later thanks to a deft deflection from Javier Cabot.
Luke Taylor restored Surbiton's lead in the tenth minute from a penalty corner.
Early in the second half, both teams exchanged goals within a minute of each other. Surbiton led 3-1 through a second goal from Forsyth in the 33rd minute only for Vicenç Ruiz to reduce Surbiton's lead to 3-2 from a penalty corner a minute later.
Surbiton pulled away with two goals in the fourth quarter, Taylor converting another penalty corner in the 47th minute and Forsyth completing his hat-trick with six minutes remaining.
Surbiton will play Dinamo Kazan of Russia at the KO8 stage at 1530 on Sunday.
