L2 Beat Basingstoke 6-1 In Their First National League Match

Surbiton Ladies' 2nd Team made the perfect start to their inaugural Investec Women's Hockey League Conference West campaign, beating Basingstoke 6-1 at Sugden Road.
Hannah Denison opened the scoring for Surbiton in the seventh minute with Maud Blokland adding a second goal in the 12th minute with a penalty corner conversion.
Denison was on target again in the 20th minute before Maddie Long stole the show with a hat-trick. A penalty corner conversion on the stroke of half time gave Surbiton a 4-0 lead.
Long struck again in the 59th minute from another penalty corner conversion before an open play goal four minutes from time completed her treble.
Basingstoke's consolation goal came from Nicola George's penalty corner conversion in the 53rd minute.
