M1 Aim To Clinch Super 6s Qualification This Weekend
By Colin Pike
Surbiton Men will be aiming to qualify for the Finals Day at Derby Arena on 1 February, by finishing in the top four in the Premier Division at Whitgift School this weekend.
At the halfway point, the top four teams (Wimbledon, Old Georgians, Surbiton and Oxted) have a six point cushion over the fifth place team, and with four teams ending the first weekend on three points, the battle to avoid relegation by finishing in the bottom two will also take a while to resolve.
Third placed Surbiton start on Saturday at 1330 against fourth placed Oxted in what could prove to be a key match towards clinching qualification. Surbiton then conclude Saturday's schedule against seventh placed Holcombe at 1830.
On Sunday, Surbiton meet the halfway point leaders Wimbledon at 12 noon and then finish against East Grinstead, who lost all four matches on the opening weekend, at 1500.
