Olympian Amy Costello Returns to SHC After Year in Hoofdklasse

6th June 2025

By Surbiton HC

Surbiton HC is pleased to announce that Scotland and GB star Amy Costello will be back in Surbiton colours next season following a year playing for Dutch side HGC.

With over 150 Scotland and GB caps having made her senior international debut aged just 16, Amy is a skilful ball player and will add another level of experience and poise to the Women’s 1s’ backline. She was a key part of Surbiton’s championship-winning side in 2024 and represented Great Britain at the Paris 2024 Olympic Games.

W1 Head Coach Dave Beckett says, “It’s fantastic to have Amy back at the club. Her experience playing in the Dutch league, one of the top club competitions in the world, will be invaluable. You don’t spend time in that environment without growing as a player. She knows Surbiton well and understands the culture we are trying to build, and I’m looking forward to seeing her put in some big performances and raise the level around her.”

Amy is pleased to return to the club: “I’m looking forward to being back at Surbiton after a year away in the Netherlands. I was following the team’s progress throughout last season and I’m excited to be back with the girls and be part of the journey going forward.”

Welcome back to Surbiton, Amy!
