Colin Pike to Retire at the End of the Season
By Surbiton HC
This weekend we are celebrating the amazing contribution of Colin Pike, who retires from his role at the end of this season following 18 years as Surbiton HC’s Press Officer.
Colin has shown incredible commitment to the club since watching his first Women’s 1s game on 7th October 2006 when they beat Maidenhead 2-1 at Sugden Road. Since making his role official in 2007, he has travelled far and wide to witness the W1s’ rise to becoming multiple National Champions, attending over 400 W1 games in person, writing hundreds of match reports along the way (he estimates somewhere between 750 to 1000!) and compiling an unparalleled amount of statistics on SHC and club hockey more widely.
A familiar face around Sugden Road and beyond, Colin’s hard work and dedication has made a huge difference to promoting awareness and knowledge around the domestic game in this country. We are incredibly grateful for everything he’s done for Surbiton HC.
Thank you Colin… a true club legend!
