L1 Start Super 6s Campaign This Weekend
By Colin Pike
The focus for Surbiton Ladies over the next two weekends will be indoor hockey as the Super 6s Premier Division gets under way on Saturday at Telford.
This will be Surbiton's second ever season in the top flight of indoor hockey after a disastrous campaign in 2015-16, also at Telford where they drew two of their nine games to suffer relegation, five points behind Leicester (who were also relegated) and Reading.
This time, Surbiton will be aiming to qualify for finals day at the Copper Box on 2 February after winning promotion from Division One last season as champions ahead of runners-up, Sutton Coldfield.
Surbiton have a tough start against reigning champions, East Grinstead at 13.30 on Saturday before facing Slough at 17.30.
On Sunday Surbiton take on Holcombe at 10.00 before completing the weekend with a rematch with Sutton Coldfield at 14.00.
Over the second weekend, Surbiton will play Bowdon Hightown; Buckingham; Clifton Robinsons and Leicester.
