In just over 30 years, Surbiton’s ladies section has gone from one new team to 9 teams playing throughout the National, South and Surrey leagues, from Surrey League Division 10, to the Investec Women’s Hockey League Premier Division. The Ladies 1s have been the IWHL champions for the last four seasons and have also won the Investec Women’s Cup three times in the last four years. The current squad, which includes three GB Olympic Gold medallists, have qualified for Europe on four occasions and finished fourth in the 2017 EuroHockey Club Cup.
All our teams feature a combination of youth and experience as we aim to bring our Colts into Senior hockey and to continue to offer our adult players the fullest range of playing opportunities. All 9 squads benefit from professionally led training, and we run two ‘Back to Hockey’ programmes, specially for those who have not played for many years (or want to start playing for the first time).

Surbiton’s men’s section played its first game on 3rd February 1875 against Teddington and remained unbeaten for its first 3 years. Whilst we haven’t been able to keep up that record entirely, our 10 teams are still successfully playing at a wide variety of levels.
Our first team have played in the Men’s Hockey League Premier Division since 1999, winning the Premiership in 2000, and have featured in Europe on several occasions. They are the current MHL Champions and also won the Super 6s Championships in 2017 at Wembley Arena.
The 1st XI are at the top of a large section, with teams throughout the London, South and Surrey Leagues allowing players of any ambition to enjoy their game at Surbiton. Whilst most of our teams receive internationally led professional coaching every week, our veterans teams are excused training but continue to play at a high level. We’ve encouraged a number of our junior players’ Dads to play and they play through out the club. The Surbiton Sparticans (aka our 7th XI) took to the pitch for the first time in 2012-13. Currently we are encouraging anyone to play hockey and have set back to hockey sessions.
