Wales Women bounced back from their disappointing defeat against the Ukraine to put in a superb performance to beat the Czech Republic, ranked nine seven places above Wales in the world, 3-0 in Vilnius, Lithuania on Saturday afternoon.
Joanne Westwood gave Wales the lead in the 17th minute, converting a penalty corner with a shot which rebounded down over the goal-line from the crossbar.
Wales then struck twice early in the third quarter, Phoebe Richards also converting a penalty corner in the 34th minute, Beth Bingham adding the third from the penalty spot two minutes later.
Surbiton’s Emily Rowlands was in the Welsh starting lineup.
Wales play hosts, Lithuania at 2 pm on Sunday afternoon.
