Surbiton’s Under-18 Girls just missed out on a place in the Super Sixes Championships semi-finals, finishing third in Pool A, a point behind runners-up, Repton.
Surbiton beat Bowdon Hightown 5-1 to make it two wins out of two on the second day of competition, but left themselves with too much to do after losing both games on day one.
However, Surbiton ended the tournament in style, Emily Guckian and Autumn Brown both scoring in the sixth minute from open play and a penalty corner respectively before Colette Staadecker added a third goal in the ninth minute again from a penalty corner.
Bowdon pulled a goal back a minute before half time thanks to Madeleine Goodman, but further goals from Stephanie Weber in the 14th minute and Zoe Allchurch five minutes later ensured that Surbiton finished in the middle of the five team pool.
