Both of Surbiton’s Under-16 teams won their two scheduled matches on day one of the National Clubs Super 6s tournament in Wolverhampton.
Surbiton’s Boys beat Team Bath Buccaneers 6-3, Conor Williamson scoring twice after Max Anderson, Spencer Wood, Callum Smith and Nikolaus Habbel had given Surbiton a 4-1 lead.
Adam Wortelhock replied for Team Bath with William Prentice scoring twice to reduce the deficit to 4-3 before Williamson’s double strike.
The Boys followed up with a 4-1 win over Bowdon, Anderson’s hat-trick and a goal from Joe Farmer putting Surbiton in command with a 4-0 lead before Michael Greenwood’s consolation goal a minute from time.

Meanwhile the Girls were just as impressive, opening with a 5-1 win over Isca. Issy Carey notched a hat-trick with Kitty Baccanello and Darcy Bourne also on target, Roza Matuszyk scoring for Isca.
Carey scored another hat-trick in a 5-2 win over Brooklands Poynton, but only after Surbiton had been stunned when Grace Gill gave Brooklands a first minute lead. Ella Burnley levelled with Olivia Wilde scoring Surbiton’s third goal, Beth Alexander scoring Brooklands’ second goal.
