Surbiton’s Under-16 Girls suffered a minor setback when they lost 3-1 to Repton in their third pool game in the Super Sixes Championships in Wolverhampton.

The victory makes Repton strong favourites to top the pool but Surbiton can still finish second and reach the semi-finals with a win over Harleston Magpies in their final pool game as rivals Cheltenham still have to take on Repton.

All the goals came in the first half as Tamera Cookman gave Surbiton a fourth minute lead before Ellie Barlow quickly responded a minute later.

Katharina Haid converted penalty corners in the seventh and eleventh minutes to maintain Repton’s one hundred per cent record.

More information about the tournament can be found at the England Hockey Altius website where the games can be followed in real time.
