Surbiton Under-16 Girls won their opening match at the Super Sixes Championships in Wolverhampton, 3-1 over Cheltenham.

Cheltenham’s captain, Flora Fletcher opened the scoring with a second minute penalty corner conversion, but Surbiton’s Tamera Cookman responded in kind a minute later and then gave Surbiton the lead for the first time within seconds of the half time restart.

Tasmin Cookman cemented the victory from the penalty spot in the 20th minute.

Surbiton will play Brooklands Poynton at 4.30 pm. Brooklands lost 7-0 to Repton in their opening match.
