Surbiton’s Under-16 Boys won the Junior Club Championships, beating Team Bath Buccaneers 1-0 in a Pool A decider and then beating Pool B leaders, Guildford 3-1 in the final.

Max Anderson’s twelfth minute open play goal against Team Bath was enough to put Surbiton in the final.

Opponents Guildford had topped a competitive Pool B, coming out on top on goal difference with second placed Old Loughtonians and third placed Beeston all having ended up on six points. Guildford had beaten Bishop’s Stortford 3-1 but lost 2-0 to Old Loughtonians, but a 5-0 win over Beeston was enough to set up a Surrey derby in the final.

Conor Williamson broke the deadlock in the fourth minute, but two minutes later, William Tristem equalised for Guildford from open play. Further goals from Olly Witts in the 15th minute and Anderson two minutes later gave Surbiton a 3-1 half time lead.

A goalless second half ensured that Surbiton lifted the trophy.
