With the EuroHockey Club Cup due to start tomorrow (Thursday), the Hockey Paper has spoken to Surbiton Ladies Head Coach, Brett Garrard and Georgie Twigg.

Garrard tells the Hockey Paper why it’s time for Surbiton to do themselves justice in Europe

He explains how he never talks about results, is delighted about the success of Surbiton’s junior programme and in looking forward to hosting this season’s European tournament, analyses past performances and the difficulties in preparing for competing at the top level in Europe.

In her interview, Twigg reveals that she is relishing club life at Surbiton

She admits that although she hasn’t played international hockey for two years, keeping fit has been a key part of her daily routine.

Twigg also gives a brief insight into working with Garrard and although it’s unlikely she will return to the international stage, she states why she hasn’t officially retired.
