Scotland Women were denied a place in the FIH Series semi-finals in Banbridge, Ireland after the Czech Republic won a shootout 4-3 after a goalless draw in normal time in the crossover match.
Former Surbiton player, Amy Gibson won her 100th cap in the Scottish goal.
The shootout went to sudden death with the teams locked at 2-2 after five attempts each. Sarah Jamieson and Kareena Cuthbert scored for Scotland with Natálie Hájková and Anna Kolarova scoring for the Czech Republic.
Jamieson and Hájková made the score 3-3, but although Kolarova put the Czechs 4-3 ahead, Cuthbert was denied to send the Czechs through to face hosts Ireland in the semi-finals.
Scotland will play France in the fifth/ sixth place playoff on Sunday morning at 11 am. France won the first meeting 2-1 on the 8 June. France lost 3-2 to Malaysia in their crossover match.
Surbiton’s Robyn Collins was in the Scottish starting lineup.
