Scotland Women began their FIH Series Finals campaign in Banbridge, Ireland on Saturday, going down 2-1 to France.
Scotland fell behind in the third minute, Perrine Seillier scoring from open play but were level in the 23rd minute, former Surbiton player Kate Holmes equalising also from open play.
The winning goal came with twelve minutes to play, Victorine Vankemmel converting a penalty corner.
Surbiton’s Robyn Collins was in the Scottish starting line-up.
Scotland will be disappointed as they are ranked 18th in the world compared with France’s 30th world ranking.
