Auckland, including Surbiton’s Beckie Middleton won bronze in the Ford National League in Wellington on Sunday morning New Zealand time, but needed a shootout to beat North Harbour.

Former Surbiton player, Julia King gave Auckland a 48th minute lead with a penalty corner conversion but North Harbour equalised with one minute to play from open play.

North Harbour missed all three of their shootout attempts, whilst captain King scored from Auckland’s second attempt as they went on to score from all three attempts to win the shootout 3-0.

Middleton and King were both in Auckland’s starting line-up for every match.
