Scotland Men started their Five Nations Tournament campaign in Malaga, Spain with a 3-1 win over the USA on Monday.
Scotland (WR 23), ranked three places above the USA (WR 26), included Surbiton’s Alan Forsyth, Willie Marshall and Nick Parkes in their starting line-up, resting Chris Grassick in preparation for squad rotation during the tournament.
Rob Harwood scored on his international debut in the eighth minute to give Scotland the lead, whilst Marshall converted a penalty corner four minutes before half time.
The USA pulled a goal back through Nick Molcsan at the end of the third quarter, but with two minutes, Wei Adams ended any American hopes of snatching at least a draw.
Parkes captained his country and came close to scoring, just missing failing to tap home a pass at the far post.
