Surbiton’s Alan Forsyth, Chris Grassick, Willie Marshall and Nick Parkes have all been selected to play for Scotland in a five nations tournament in Malaga between 29 January and 3 February.

Scotland are currently ranked 23rd in the world and will face Spain (WR 8), Ireland (WR 10), Canada (WR 11) and the USA (WR 26) as they continue their preparations for the Commonwealth Games in the Gold Coast.

Scotland’s Commonwealth Games squad will be announced on 14 February.

After an excellent 2017 which saw Scotland win EuroHockey Championships II and also qualify for the World League semi-final, there will be optimism that the momentum can be carried into 2018.

Scotland’s Head Coach, Derek Forsyth said, > “We’re very much looking forward to the 5-nations tournament in Malaga against some top sides, it’ll be a good test for the players.”

“Selection for the Commonwealth Games will be made after the tournament and every player has the opportunity to be selected to represent Scotland in the Gold Coast in April.”
