Surbiton Men qualified for Finals Day on 28 January, winning their fifth successive match at Bromsgrove School against Team Bath Buccaneers, who had led the table with maximum points after the first weekend.
Having lost to East Grinstead, Team Bath also lost to Surbiton after trailing 3-0 in the 12th minute.
Alan Forsyth quickly broke the deadlock in the second minute, with Arjan Drayton-Chana adding a second goal in the seventh minute and Lewis Prosser on target five minutes later.
Matthew Simonds pulled a goal back for Team Bath in the 14th minute, but Forsyth restored Surbiton’s three goal advantage three minutes before half time with a penalty corner conversion.
Hendrik Geyer extended Surbiton’s lead to 5-1 in the 24th minute, but Ben Mackey scored Team Bath’s second goal two minutes later from the penalty spot.
Forsyth also scored from the penalty spot to complete his hat-trick with twelve minutes to play, defences on top for the rest of the game.
With fifth placed Sevenoaks only able to get a maximum of 13 points, Surbiton have qualified with 15 points and will play to decide their finishing position and semi-final opponents on Sunday.
Surbiton play Holcombe at 1100 and Brooklands Manchester University in the last game of the tournament at 1700 on Sunday.
