Surbiton’s Sarah Haycroft won her 50th England cap in the 2-1 quarter-final win over the USA at the Sentinel Homes Hockey World League final tournament in Auckland on Thursday.
Haycroft, known as “Crofty” made her senior international debut in 2013 in South Africa and has been an important member of both the England and GB squads.
Crofty started her club career at Surbiton before studying at the University of Birmingham and then returning to Surbiton. She is Surbiton Ladies’ captain and in Auckland will be hoping to add to her medal collection having won silver at the 2013 Euros and bronze at both the 2017 Euros and 2017 Hockey World League semi-final tournament.
