Surbiton captain, Natalie Maclean restored her side’s lead with eight minutes to play with a penalty corner conversion, but Chelmsford earned a point when Kate Taylor levelled from open play with five minutes remaining.

Surbiton are likely to go into the second weekend at Nottingham Trent University in third place on seven points. Buckingham lead the way with twelve points with Sevenoaks second on eight.

Brooklands Poynton can join Surbiton on seven points with a win in the final game versus the University of Birmingham.
