Next weekend (28 November) sees the final weekend of both national leagues, with Surbiton Hockey Club staging a Super Saturday at Sugden Road.
First up are Surbiton Ladies, who welcome Holcombe for a 2 pm pushback for their Investec Women’s Hockey League Premier Division clash.
Holcombe are fifth, just a point off the play-off places and come to Sugden Road having drawn 1-1 with their Kent neighbours, Canterbury on Saturday.
Surbiton are second, two points behind leaders, University of Birmingham and will want to end 2015 with a win before they start their indoor season.
Surbiton won 3-1 at Buckingham on Saturday and won 5-0 at Holcombe when the teams first met on 7 October. Jo Hunter scored twice with Giselle Ansley, Charlotte Calnan and Abi Robinson also scoring.
Then at 6 pm, it’s the turn of Surbiton’s men to be in the spotlight as they host Beeston in a Men’s Hockey League Premier Division clash.
Beeston moved up to eighth from ninth after their 6-2 home win over Cannock on Sunday.
Surbiton won 4-1 at Hampstead & Westminster to complete the double over their London rivals, and are second with a two goal inferior goal difference to leaders, Holcombe.
When Surbiton travelled to Nottingham on 26 September, Beeston lost narrowly 3-2. Alan Forsyth scoring twice, with Andrew Hayward also on target, all goals coming from open play.
Mark Gleghorne and Chris Proctor scored for Beeston, both goals also coming from open play.
Admission on Saturday is free.
