The schedule for the final day of the Futures Cup at Oaklands College, St. Albans was determined after another competitive day on Friday.

In the Under 15 Boys tournament, Celtic Jaguars will meet Caledonian Cougars in the fifth/ sixth place playoff after the Cougars lost 3-1 to Mercia Lynx, Surbiton’s Tobias Chan scoring for the Lynx.  The Lynx will meet Pennine Pumas in the final after the Pumas held off Saxon Tigers with a 2-2 draw to top their pool on goal difference. The Tigers have the consolation of meeting Wessex Leopards for third place.

Jaguars will also face the Cougars in the fifth place match for the Under 15 Girls competition, the Cougars going down to the Tigers 5-0 in their final pool game, Surbiton’s Peggy Winterborn scoring a brace. The Jaguars lost 7-0 to the Pumas.The Tigers will face the Leopards for third place with the Lynx and Pumas battling it out for the title.

The Cougars and Jaguars, who are both getting useful experience in all four tournaments, meet in the fifth place match in the Under 17 Boys competition. The Cougars went down 4-2 to the Leopards in their final pool game with the Jaguars already aware that they would be fighting for fifth on the final day. In spite of their victory, the Leopards will play the Lynx for third place, the Lynx missing out on a final place on goal difference after drawing 1-1 with eventual pool winners, the Pumas. The Pumas take on the Tigers for the Championship.

In the Under 17 Girls competition, the Jaguars will play the Tigers for fifth after the Cougars won the Celtic derby 5-1 over the Jaguars to earn a place in the third place playoff. The Cougars will play the Pumas after the Lynx ended the Pumas’ final hopes with a 3-1 win. The Lynx wlll meet the Leopards in the final.
