Former Surbiton Ladies player Naomi Evans is set to make her international debut for Australia in a Four Nations tournament in Japan after being called up as an injury replacement for the unfortunate Rebecca Greiner, who had to withdraw with a fractured thumb.

Evans, who was a member of the Surbiton championship squads of 2016 and 2017 has also played for Australian Capital Territory in the Australian Hockey League (AHL).

Evans would become the second Surbiton player to wear a Hockeyroos shirt after Georgie Parker, who had a short spell with Surbiton in the South Clubs’ Women’s Hockey League Division One for the first half of the 2009-10 season. After retiring from hockey, Parker went on to play Aussie Rules football for Collingwood in the AFLW.
