SHC Website Ends Its First Phase of Development

We have reached the end of phase one of the website upgrade; the basic layout is in place and the main pages determined. New developments will be announced in the coming weeks. Coverage of the achievements of the top sides and elite players is excellent. But, we are keen to expand the news section to include more news from lower down the club and from the colts. We would therefore like to invite members interested in joining our team to help develop the website and/or contribute news items and match reports. There are no specific time commitments, and interest in web development is the only critera as training will be given in; HTML, CSS, WordPress development, image manipulation and typography. There will also be a chance to learn abou8t video editing. The plans for future development, once the dust has settled on phase 1, include; player profiles, coach information, a revamp of the Communities section, further development of the Colts section, the possibility of introducing a members only area, a more interactive match report experience, possibility of Forums to enable discussions and an exchange of views and greater use of video of both matches and social events. THere are certainly going to be exciting times ahead for anyone involvced, so sign up now and email...

Squad: Milan Brinker (GK), Mike Pocock, Alec Jackson, Andy Wood, Tom Dodd, Liam Postance-Eamer, Sam Maclennan, Tom Louwe, Eddie Hallett (Captain), Matt Claisse, James Chowne, Martin Dye, Rob Stone, Luke Anderson, Lawrence Oldham, William Quinn 3 matches in one day against teams playing several leagues above us, where do we sign up? Match 1 vs Wanderers 1XI For the first match of the day we were still a bit rusty from the game on Friday (#commitment). We played some good hockey but the opposition forwards were just a lot quicker than we were. However, we did have some stand out players of our own with Jacko and Andy putting in a great effort at the back of the pack to keep the pacey Wanderers forwards out. In the middle we had Ed, Matt, and Lawrence to start with who were putting in a lot of effort to try and find the space for the forwards to run into. We went 1-0 down but then quickly came back to go 2-1 up! The first goal a reverse hit from Alec (quality) and the second was a deflection from Lozza both from short corners. (Alec tried to re-create his reverse goal in training, and I can confirm it was a one off.) Unfortunately for us our captain (Ed) got sent off. Wanderers then scored a lucky goal and an incredible drag...
