As you know, Mark Rye, our former Club Captain and President, recently passed away whilst on holiday in Australia. This email is to invite you to participate in memorial matches to commemorate Mark’s life at the club on Saturday 14 April. Matches will take place from 2 – 3.30pm, followed by teas. Mark Rye 1951-2018

It is with great sadness that we must report the sudden and untimely passing of Mark Rye whilst on holiday in Australia. Mark was a long-standing and invaluable member who was involved in so many different facets of life at the club.  He was Club Captain from 1997-2000 and Club President from 2011-15, and will be sorely missed by us all. Having qualified for the Jaffa Super 6s Finals Day at the Copper Box Arena on 28 January, Surbiton Men’s indoor squad will attempt to retain the trophy that they won last year in such style. EuroHockey Volunteers – Your Club Needs You

                  VOLUNTEERS – YOUR CLUB NEEDS YOU Women’s Euro Hockey Club Cup (EHCC) (17-20 May 2018) Having been selected to host this prestigious event, the board are keen to recruit volunteers to assist with the planning and organisation.  There will be many and varied roles to fill, including the following: Planning and organisation coordinator Transport coordinator Grounds/stadium management coordinator Volunteer coordinator Media coordinator Ticket and programme sellers Team liaison officers Pitch managers Announcers Liaison officers for officials The coordinator positions will require an ongoing commitment from now until May 2018.  If you are interested in one of these roles, or know of anyone who might be suitable, please speak to any member of the Board to discuss further, or email Other roles will require less of a time commitment, mostly in the immediate run-up to and on the weekend of the tournament.  So, if you are interested in helping, and no matter how much time you can spare, please send an email to so that we can add you to our database of volunteers.    This is an unprecedented and exciting opportunity for us to showcase the club.   As a volunteer you will play a key role in helping us to deliver a first-class tournament.  It is also an opportunity to have fun, meet new people, learn new skills, and be part of a successful event....
