EuroHockey Volunteers – Your Club Needs You

                  VOLUNTEERS – YOUR CLUB NEEDS YOU Women’s Euro Hockey Club Cup (EHCC) (17-20 May 2018) Having been selected to host this prestigious event, the board are keen to recruit volunteers to assist with the planning and organisation.  There will be many and varied roles to fill, including the following: Planning and organisation coordinator Transport coordinator Grounds/stadium management coordinator Volunteer coordinator Media coordinator Ticket and programme sellers Team liaison officers Pitch managers Announcers Liaison officers for officials The coordinator positions will require an ongoing commitment from now until May 2018.  If you are interested in one of these roles, or know of anyone who might be suitable, please speak to any member of the Board to discuss further, or email clubcap@surbitonhc.com Other roles will require less of a time commitment, mostly in the immediate run-up to and on the weekend of the tournament.  So, if you are interested in helping, and no matter how much time you can spare, please send an email to clubcap@surbitonhc.com so that we can add you to our database of volunteers.    This is an unprecedented and exciting opportunity for us to showcase the club.   As a volunteer you will play a key role in helping us to deliver a first-class tournament.  It is also an opportunity to have fun, meet new people, learn new skills, and be part of a successful event....

Season Tickets and Ticket Pricing for the National League Home Matches this Season

I am aware that some members have questioned the policy of charging entry for L1s and M1s fixtures. We have experimented with charging entry for several seasons now and this is in line with other National League clubs and England Hockey’s wish to promote hockey as a high-quality sport. With so many international players at the club, we believe that a charge of £5.00 per match (or for a double-header) represents good value, especially as it includes a free programme (for all home matches). Carolyn Llewellyn appointed Club Vice Captain

On 2 September, an EGM took place to formally elect Carolyn Llewellyn as Vice-Captain of the club (standing, in pink, on the right). The intention is that Carolyn will become Club Captain when Mark Waller steps down at the end of the coming season. As Vice-Captain, Carolyn will join the Board, enabling her to better understand how the club operates, and help to ensure continuity next year. This is an historic moment in the club’s history. Communications Manager The job holder will be responsible to the Board and report to me in the first instance. It is a non-remunerated position. Although it is anticipated that the role will take up no more than a few hours’ a week on average, a flexible attitude is required, along with the ability to respond promptly to requests. Domestic Bliss

What a fantastic weekend it was at Lee Valley, with our men’s and ladies’ first teams winning their respective National League play-off finals on Sunday.
