Argentina won the second of five test matches in Rosario on Sunday, coming from behind for the second day running, this time to win 3-1.
Surbiton’s Hollie Pearne-Webb won her 50th GB cap and captain, Alex Danson won her 100th GB cap against Las Leonas.
Great Britain took the lead in the seventh minute, Pearne-Webb playing a ball into the circle where Danson tried to lob Belen Succi, Ellie Rayer touching the ball over the goal-line from very short range.
However, Argentina were level five minutes later, Delfina Merino finding herself in space in the circle to smash the ball against the backboard.
Two minutes before half time, Argentina took the lead, Maria Granatto deftly lobbing the ball over goalkeeper Rose Thomas to leave Great Britain trailing 2-1 at half time.
In the 38th minute, a one-two move between Julieta Jankunas and Maria Campoy saw Campoy cross the ball from the left for Jankunas to deflect the ball home and give Argentina a 3-1 lead.
Surbiton’s Giselle Ansley had a couple of penalty corner attempts in the fourth quarter, Granatto having to limp off after being injured following her attack to chase down and block Ansley’s shot.
Laura Unsworth came on as a kicking back for the final four minutes, but Argentina took a 2-0 lead in the series.
Ansley and Pearne-Webb were in the GB starting line-up whilst Emily Defroand came on as a sixth minute substitute with Sarah Haycroft, Jo Hunter and Hannah Martin all coming off the bench a minute later.
The third game is on 14 February at 9.30 pm GMT.
