Canada Men including Surbiton’s Richard Hildreth, just missed out on Pan American Cup glory, going down 2-0 to Argentina in the final in Lancaster, USA on Saturday evening.

The game was delayed due to lightning storms in the area which had caused the bronze medal match between the hosts, United States and Trinidad & Tobago to be suspended with eight minutes to play. The United States were leading 2-0 at the time of suspension and went on to win 3-0.

First half goals from Argentina’s Ignacio Ortiz and Lucas Vila in the 5th and 25th minutes were enough for Argentina to retain the cup. Hildreth came on as a fourth minute substitute for Canada.
